HOW TO PLAY
Hold the watch still until the spirit level settles: that position becomes level, so you can play with your wrist in any comfortable position. Then tilt. START pauses, and so does turning the screen face down. On the world map UP/DOWN or a swipe picks a world, START plays; hold UP or the screen for a menu with the statistics, the leaderboard and all settings; the cup on the right opens the leaderboard.
Buy it right on the watch: press START on a locked world, open kzl.io/code on your phone and enter the code from the watch. Ringroll+ unlocks within a minute and stays unlocked offline. Payments are handled by KiezelPay.
For round Garmin watches with an accelerometer: 121 models including fēnix 5 Plus, 6 Pro, 7, 8 and 9, epix, MARQ, Descent, Enduro 3, Venu, vívoactive, Forerunner and Instinct AMOLED. In 19 languages.
1What the game is about
Ringroll is a round tilt maze for your watch. Tip your wrist and roll the ball through the rings into the glowing core in the middle.
Every level is a real circular maze with dead ends. The walls run around the core in rings, and the gaps between them lead you inwards — or into a corner you have to back out of.
The first levels have three rings. The mazes then grow bigger and tighter, up to eight rings in the last world. There are 120 levels in six worlds in space, and each world adds something new: ice, a gate with a switch, holes, a portal or turning rings.
Every level gives up to three stars for speed. On top of that there is a new daily maze every day, where you race your own ghost.

2Installing and your first level
- Open the Connect IQ app on your phone, search for Ringroll and install it on your watch.
- Start it from the watch’s app list. The game opens on the world map.
- Press START (or tap the middle of the screen) to play the first level of Orbit. Before the first level of every world, a short card tells you what is new there.
Until you have played today’s daily maze, the map opens on it. Move to a world with the buttons or a swipe if you’d rather play the levels.
On most watches you can also add Ringroll to your glances in the watch settings. The glance shows whether today’s daily maze is still waiting, your time and streak, and how many stars you have collected. The fēnix 5 Plus family has no glances.
Your stars and records are saved after every level. When you come back, the map takes you to where you left off.

3How to play
The spirit level
Every level starts with a spirit level and HOLD STILL. Hold the watch the way you want to play and keep it steady for a moment. Once the bubble settles, that position becomes „level“ and the maze starts.
So you don’t have to hold your wrist flat. Play with your arm on the table, raised in front of you or hanging down, whatever feels comfortable. If you can’t keep still, the level starts after a few seconds anyway; START or a tap starts it straight away.
Changed your position in the middle of a level? Level the tilt in the pause menu runs the spirit level again.

Tilt, the rim and the stars
Tilt the watch and the ball rolls downhill. It picks up speed, bounces off the walls, and the watch vibrates when it hits one; the harder the knock, the stronger the buzz. The walls near the ball light up so you can see where you are going.
The rim of the display is your clock. The amber rim shows how much time is left for three stars. When it runs out, a blue rim counts down the time for two stars. Reach the core after that and you still get one star.
| Stars | Earned for |
|---|---|
| ★★★ | Reaching the core while the amber rim is still there. |
| ★★ | Reaching the core while the blue rim is still there. |
| ★ | Reaching the core at all. |
The time limits are set for each maze on its own: a long winding path gets more time than a short one. In Station they count the detour to the switch, in Wormhole the portal shortcut.

After the level
Reach the core and you see your time, your stars and your record for the level. If you missed a star, the screen tells you what time you need for the next one, e.g. star 3 under 0:21.0.
START opens a short menu:
- Next level — with the name of its challenge, if it has one.
- Play again — the same level once more.
- With Mirror, With Dark, With Spin — play the level again with a challenge for extra stars (Ringroll+).
- World map.
DOWN replays the level straight away, BACK takes you to the map.
When you finish the last missing level of a world, a WORLD COMPLETE card shows your stars in that world and in how many levels you got all three. Then it points you to the next world.

Pause
START or BACK in a level pauses the game, and so does turning the screen face down. The clock stops while the game is paused. Turn the watch back to where you were holding it and the ball rolls on. Ordinary tilting doesn’t pause the game: the screen has to point clearly downwards, compared with the way you play, for half a second.
| Pause menu | What it does |
|---|---|
| Resume | Back to the level. |
| Difficulty | Easy, Normal or Hard. The level starts again with the new difficulty when you close the menu. Not in the daily maze. |
| Wall glow | How brightly the walls near the ball light up: Weak, Medium or Strong. |
| Effects | Lit walls, the ball’s trail, its halo and the pulsing core. Off = faster game. |
| Level the tilt | The spirit level again, for the way you are holding the watch now. |
| Play again | The level from the start. |
| World map | Back to the map. |
| Debug info | Frames per second and timings in the corner of the screen. Only for the curious. |
| Quit game | Closes the app. |
4The world map
The map is the game’s home screen. The six worlds sit on a circle as animated icons, and the one you have selected turns to the top. The seventh place on the circle belongs to the daily maze: its icon is a ring of the last seven days.
The middle of the map shows where START will take you: the level, the world’s name and your stars there, sometimes with the level’s challenge. The thin circle around it fills up as you finish the world’s 20 levels.
- UP / DOWN, a swipe or a tap on an icon selects a world.
- START or a tap in the middle plays.
- The small icon on the left edge, a ring with a star, opens the statistics. So does holding UP or holding your finger on the screen.
- BACK closes the game.
- Hold UP or your finger for the menu. Choose level shows all 20 levels of the world with their stars, and you can replay any level you have opened. A level is always the same maze, so you improve your record on a track you know.
START takes you to the level you last played, if you haven’t finished it yet, or to the next unfinished one. In a completed world it picks the first level without three stars. A completed world shows DONE in the middle; with all 60 stars its icon gets a gold dot.

5Six worlds in space
The rings around a glowing core are a small star system, and your ball is a probe on its way to the centre. Every world has 20 levels and its own colours, and each one adds a new trick.
| World | Levels | What’s new | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Orbit | 1–20 | The basics: rings, gaps and dead ends | free |
| Comet | 21–40 | Slippery ice | Ringroll+ |
| Station | 41–60 | A locked gate and its switch | Ringroll+ |
| Craters | 61–80 | Holes in the floor | Ringroll+ |
| Wormhole | 81–100 | A portal as a shortcut | Ringroll+ |
| Pulsar | 101–120 | Turning rings | Ringroll+ |

The first time you open a new world, a card explains its trick before the first level.
6Challenges
Challenges come with the levels; you don’t switch them on yourself. In every world the 5th level has Mirror, the 10th Dark and the 15th Spin. The 20th, the world’s finale, has two challenges at once. Before the first level with a new challenge and before every finale, a card tells you what’s coming.
- Mirror — every now and then the axes swap, so tilting left sends the ball right. A second before, the rim flashes pink and the watch buzzes twice; AXES SWAPPED and AXES BACK tell you what’s going on. In a short level the swap comes sooner.
- Dark — you only see the walls around the ball. You have to remember the way.
- Spin — the whole maze slowly turns, so the same tilt leads somewhere else each time.
With a challenge you get a little more time for the stars.
Challenge replays
After any level you can play it again with a challenge it doesn’t have: With Mirror, With Dark or With Spin. Each gives up to three extra stars, which the map and the statistics show as „+ from challenges“. Challenge replays come with Ringroll+.

7Difficulty
Choose the difficulty in the pause menu or in the settings on your phone. It changes how the mazes are built:
| Difficulty | What changes |
|---|---|
| Easy | Wide openings everywhere. |
| Normal | Some openings narrow down to slots barely wider than the ball. The default. |
| Hard | One more ring and even more narrow slots. |
A narrow slot is a small test of precision: hit it head-on and the ball goes through, come in at an angle and it bounces off. The time limits for stars take the slots into account. Pulsar has no slots; its turning rings are hard enough.
Your best time is kept for each difficulty separately. Stars count from any difficulty, so three stars earned on Easy stay yours.

8The daily maze and the ghost
Every day there is a new daily maze, the same for everyone who plays Ringroll that day, and it’s free. On some days it has ice, and it often comes with a challenge of the day: Mirror, Dark or Spin. It is always played on Normal.
Play it as often as you like. Your best run of the day becomes the ghost, a dark ball that rolls along with you next time. The result tells you by how much you beat it or how far behind it you were.
Play the daily maze several days running and your streak grows. You can see it in the daily maze’s icon on the map, in the glance and in the statistics.
Until you have played today’s maze, the game opens on it.

9Statistics
Open them from the map: tap the ring-with-a-star icon on the left edge, hold UP or hold your finger on the screen. They have two pages; UP, DOWN, START, a swipe or a tap turns the page, BACK goes back to the map.
- PROGRESS — your stars out of 360 (plus those from challenges), finished levels out of 120, a ring for each world, how many worlds you’ve completed and your daily maze streak.
- PLAYING — time played, runs and finished runs, how far your ball has rolled across the screen, knocks against walls, falls into holes, portal rides and switches.

10Online leaderboards
Ringroll sends your results to an online leaderboard. You see your place right on the watch, and everything is also on the web at leaderboard.petrrezek.net.
- Daily maze — everyone rides the same maze that day (always on Normal), so there’s one leaderboard per day. After a run the result screen shows your place, e.g. “Place 3 of 12”.
- Worlds — each world has a leaderboard for every difficulty. Finished players are ranked by the total time of all 20 levels; players still on their way show as “14/20” and are ranked by levels finished. Every level you finish in a world moves you on its leaderboard; replays with an extra challenge don’t count.
- Where to find it — tap the cup on the right edge of the map (it opens the leaderboard of the world you have selected, on your difficulty), or pick Leaderboard in the menu after a run. Hold UP or your finger on the map for a menu with the statistics, the leaderboard and all settings.
- Nickname — set it on the watch (Nickname in the map menu or the pause menu opens a keyboard: tap the keys, or move with UP/DOWN and press START; the “1Á” key switches to digits, accents and Cyrillic) or in the phone settings. 3–16 characters; left empty, you get a random one such as “Roller 4F2A”.
- Privacy — only your nickname, a random player ID and your results are sent. Turn the leaderboard off any time with Online leaderboard in the menus or on the phone. Without a phone connection the result waits on the watch and goes later. Runs steered with a finger held on the screen don’t count; a quick tap to light up the screen is fine.

11Ringroll+ and how to buy it
For free you get Orbit with its 20 levels, the daily maze and the statistics. Ringroll+ unlocks everything else:
- five more worlds with 100 levels: Comet, Station, Craters, Wormhole and Pulsar,
- challenge replays of every level for extra stars.
It costs $2.99, once. No subscription, no account. Payment is handled by KiezelPay.
Buying, step by step
- Select a locked world on the map and press START. The watch shows what Ringroll+ includes.
- Press START again. The watch asks for a code; it needs its phone connection for that.
- A code appears on the watch. On your phone go to kzl.io/code, enter the code and pay.
- Keep the code screen open. The game unlocks within a minute of paying and shows UNLOCKED.
The watch remembers the unlock, so Ringroll+ keeps working without your phone.
12Settings
You can change the settings in the pause menu during a level, or on your phone: in the Connect IQ app (or Garmin Connect) open your watch’s apps, choose Ringroll and then Settings.
| Option | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Difficulty | Normal | Easy: wide openings. Normal: some openings are narrow. Hard: more rings, more narrow openings. |
| Wall glow near the ball | Medium | Weak, Medium or Strong. Weak is calmer when the bright walls distract you. The Dark challenge always lights the walls fully. |
| Light effects | on | Lit walls, the trail, the halo around the ball and the pulsing core. Turning them off makes the game run faster on older watches. |
14Supported watches
Ringroll runs on 121 round Garmin watch models. It needs an accelerometer, which all of them have:
- fēnix 5 Plus, 5S Plus and 5X Plus, 6 Pro, 6S Pro and 6X Pro, fēnix 7, 7S and 7X (including Pro), fēnix 8 (including Pro and Solar), fēnix 9 and 9 Pro, fēnix E; also tactix and quatix models built on them
- epix (Gen 2) and epix Pro (Gen 2), Enduro 3
- Forerunner 70, 165, 170, 255, 255s, 265, 265s, 570, 955, 965 and 970
- Venu 2, 2 Plus, 2S, 3, 3S and 4; vívoactive 5 and 6
- Instinct 3 AMOLED and Instinct Crossover AMOLED
- MARQ (1st and 2nd generation), D2 Air X10, Mach 1, Mach 2 and Mach 2 Pro, Descent G2, Mk2, Mk2 S and Mk3, Approach S50 and S70
The game adapts to each display: on smaller screens and with bigger fonts the texts get shorter, and watches with fewer colours draw the maze in the colours they have.
15FAQ
The ball rolls the wrong way, or on its own.
The game takes the position you held during the spirit level as level. If you’ve changed position since, open the pause menu and choose Level the tilt.
The game paused by itself.
You probably turned the screen face down. Turn it back and the ball carries on.
Does the game need my phone or the internet?
No. The phone is needed only once, when you buy Ringroll+.
I’ve paid, but the worlds are still locked.
Keep the code screen open on the watch and check that the watch is connected to your phone. The unlock arrives within a minute of paying. If you closed the screen in the meantime, select a locked world again and press START.
Why did I get only two stars when I was quick?
The time limit belongs to each maze: the amber rim shows exactly how much time is left for three stars. In Station the detour to the switch counts, in Wormhole the portal shortcut.
Does a harder difficulty give more stars?
No. Stars count the same on every difficulty; the best time is kept for each difficulty on its own.
